THE CONCEP T
The galactic suite high altitude hotel is planned at the southern slope of the chinese changtse at a altitude between 7.200m and 7.500m. the topography is very steep with permanent snow. due to low pressure, temperatures and concentration of oxigen, the hotel is conceived as a refuge without permanent presence of humans onboard. regular acces of guests to the hotel will also bring the needed suplies. extra re-supply can be achieved by helicopter. another basic concept of the hotel is that the gs himalayas can be a scalable station by adding new modules to original configuration. this is established as a bioinspired molecular structure with a central living module with four room modules, one spa module, and access and machinery modules attached. low pressure at such high altitudes requires airsealed spherical independent interconnected units that guarantees a closed egress loop in case of accidental depressurization. usual occupancy of the hotel would include a maximum of 6 guests with 2 to 4 crew in charge of the care of the guests and the maintenance of the station.

THE ENVIRONMENT
The himalayas is a mountain range in asia, separating the indian subcontinent from the tibetan plateau, and is home to the world’s highest peaks: the eightthousanders. more than 100 mountains are over 7.200m while the highest peak outside asia, the aconcagua (andes) is 6.962m. the himalayas have a profound effect on the climate of the region. they act as natural barrier preventing the frigid, dry arctic winds blowing south into the subcontinent and to the monson winds traveling northwards. the changtse is a mountain situated between the main rongbuk ane east rongbuk glaciers in tibet, immediately north of mount everest. it has total elevation of 7.543m. as a result of the height the average temperature is -36ºc and the minimum can drop until -60ºc. pressure is one third of sea level and wind can blow up to 135km/h. precipitation in form of snow is about 2.25m/year.
